Here are some of our favorite restaurants on Sanibel Island:
Lighthouse Cafe for breakfast, Sanibel Grill (great Buffalo wings and seafood–food is prepared in the Timbers Restaurant), Timbers Restaurant and Fish Market, Lazy Flamingo, Thistle Lodge (just east of Pointe Santo), Sanibel Café, Matzaluna for Italian cuisine, Cheeburger Cheeburger (kids love to go there), Gramma Dot’s, Blue Giraffe, Jerry’s, Schnapper’s Hots for take-out sandwiches, Island Cow and Over Easy (also have good breakfasts and are closer to Pointe Santo), Doc Ford’s Sanibel Rum Bar and Grille (Fantastic food with fun atmosphere inspired by best-selling author Randy Wayne White), George & Wendy’s Seafood Grille, Cips Place, Sanibel Fish House, Pinocchio’s Original Italian Ice Cream (famous for Sanibel Krunch and Dirty Sand Dollar ice creams), Jacaranda (wonderful appetizers)——just to mention a few of the many good restaurants to enjoy.
Here are some of our favorite restaurants on Captiva Island:
RC Otter’s Island Eats (live entertainment daily for lunch and dinner), Mucky Duck (enjoy a view of the Gulf of Mexico), Keylime Bistro (live entertainment daily for lunch and dinner), Bubble Room (kids love the Christmas decorations and Bubble Scout servers plus adults love the old movie star photos), Green Flash (view of bay; some guests arrive via boat), Old Captiva House Tween Waters Inn——just to mention a few of the many good restaurants to enjoy.
Note: Both Jerry’s and Bailey’s have a good selection of groceries and both have deli food available. If you wish to cook out, there are nine gas grills around the lagoon at Pointe Santo.
